LIVE MUSIC | DANCE PERFORMANCE

The DJ and producer collective Alma Negra demonstrates, in a virtuoso way, how science and music can mutually inspire each other. Live elements as well as rhythms, which are generated with percussion and electronic drums and synthesizers, are blended with the pulse of the musicians, which also define the mood and flow of the music. Further, dancers enter an interactive soundspace to further distort and affect the sounds. The interplay of rhythms creates a unique interaction between man, machine and music.

While Alma Negra deals with interesting polyrhythms and live percussion, Florian Oberhauser transforms these grooves into his modular synthesizer. Carta Blanca Dance transform the sounds with their exciting choreography and Permi Jhooti deals with the interface between the musicians, dancers, their pulse and the instruments.
